Catching Up

morning routine.....breakfast with disney playhouse
poor kid inherited his mommy's squinty smile
now it's time to lose the tray, get real comfy in the highchair and settle in for some Mickey Mouse or Special Agent Oso (the unique stuffed bear)
asleep after big day of playing with mommy and he maintained the death grip on his 1st chik-fil-a balloon
pretending to be in a cage in the awesome tiger cage Meredith made for Thomas' birthday party. She made the neatest carnival for the kiddos!
hanging by the bounce house with his juice...he liked to be on it or by it, NOT in it bouncing
snacks with the birthday boy and other kids.....he's looking at me like "what am i supposed to do with this thing"...still doesn't eat cupcakes
1st time in his swim floatie...he was crouching b/c I was
snack time after pool time on Saturday
hanging out in his favorite spot...the stairs
ready to 1..2..3...jump.....AGAIN
trying to "swim" towards daddy
look at those beautiful baby blues!
After I pulled out the box of party supplies to put stuff away, Ethan thought that shelf looked perfect sized for him to climb in. Brandon just barely caught a pic before he was ready to get out!

Sorry for the long post....more coming when I get pics off of my iphone. Ethan is out of school til June 8...so I'm working from home and will hopefully keep us busy with work and lots of activities! We also have our home for sale....so it's kinda crazy around here!

Ethan at 21 months

It's been a while since we've blogged....honestly, it's because we have taken no photos. Ethan turned 21 months on Saturday and then we had a great Mother's Day on Sunday. Brandon and Ethan cooked a delicious breakfast, then church and lunch with my mom and dad...then I got sick so I had to send the boys to Plumerville without me :( They had a great time celebrating with Grammy and Brandon's grandmothers. Ethan got a haircut on Saturday and now he really looks like a little boy....gone is his little baby face, but at least he's so handsome he can pull it off. (hence the tshirt that says "dump him, i'm hotter")

At 21 months:

-trying new words all the time, his favorite is "car" and his favorite activity is to wave at them, whether parked or moving

-loves to give hugs, his signature move is the patting hands when he hugs...it makes us laugh EVERY time

-He's 3 feet tall and 33 lbs. He's such a big boy and strong as an ox, so we know he'll continue to be a handful

-loves to play with his friends at school, preferably outside where he is happiest

It's hard to believe it's time to start thinking about his 2nd birthday already! He's growing too fast, but we are enjoying every minute. He is such a sweet boy and such a flirt, so we can't wait to watch as his personality continues to grow.

Disney on Ice

he is seriously concentrating on the deep story lines here :)

pay no attention to my face...but isn't he too stinkin' cute!

A few months ago I ordered tickets for us to take Ethan to Disney on Ice (Mickey & Minnie's Magical Adventure). I wasn't really sure how well Ethan would do, but I must say he did fabulous! He was so enthralled the whole time until the VERY end when he started to fall asleep on me, so we snuck out during the finale. We had a blast with him and now I know I can take him to these shows in the future because he really does enjoy them. He even picked out his own souvenir, the little Mickey and Mimi thought she got off pretty easy. He didn't even want to be distracted with food or talking while he was watching his show. Good times!

Girls' Weekend

MC, Laura, and me
Terri, Flint, and Sabra
MC, Laura, me, Jennifer, Terri & Sabra

Last weekend, a few of us girls went to Fayetteville for a little getaway just to enjoy dorm-time and having no schedule, and only ourselves to take care of. We had so much fun just lounging in pjs, eating good food, and enjoying good company. Thanks to my parents who let us use their house up there so we could have free lodging :) The group was Suzanne, Jennifer, Sabra, Terri, Laura, MC, and myself (though I have no pics with Suz). We did Powerhouse friday night, mall saturday, mellow mushroom saturday night with a visit from Flint (Sabra's brother) and lots of time in between watching Bravo and hanging on the couch! (Mellow Mushroom is the only time I remembered I had a camera...ones from my iphone are not worth posting)

Rainy Easter Sunday

We didn't take any pictures of the Easter lunch or church b/c it was so crazy with the weather....but after we got home from running around, Ethan wanted to check out the rain with daddy. He was having a big time til mean 'ol mommy and daddy made him come inside to get warm and dry.

Hanging out at Mimi & Papa's

Gracie needed to be involved in this lap time
since i can read lips, he's saying "what's this?" (and it's all he says these days)
someone got caught playing behind the curtains!

Saturday night we did dinner at Mimi & Papa's house with Uncle Courtney, Aunt Erika, and Reagan. We didn't get many pictures b/c we spent most of the time eating or managing kiddos....but here's some pics from after dinner.

Easter Egg Hunt

Welcome to the Easter party
not interested in decorating the cookie if i can't play with the knife!
this was how he played on the inflatables....only on the side and only holding mimi's hand
my little cutie!
this was the most fun, pushing Colton around
putting eggs in the basket
haha suckers....i got the golden egg!
mimi & papa pointing out more hidden eggs

We had an Easter celebration at church on Saturday with inflatables, games, and an Easter egg hunt. Ethan was most interested in running around and doing his own thing....until the egg hunt. Ethan was all about that, and he found the golden egg....then he walked around trying to steal other kids' eggs, only to look inside and give them back.
